Catholic Summer Activities for Kids | Faith and Formation at Royalmont

Looking for Catholic summer activities for kids that go beyond entertainment? At Royalmont Academy, summer is a season for growing in heart, mind, body, and soul. Rooted in the Regnum Christi tradition, our summer programs form students through four pillars: spiritual, intellectual, human, and apostolic formation.

1. Spiritual Formation: Growing Closer to Christ

Kick off the summer with Vacation Bible School (VBS), happening June 2–6 from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Open to children of all backgrounds, our VBS week brings Scripture to life through stories, crafts, songs, and play rooted in Catholic tradition. This is more than childcare—it’s a week where hearts are formed and faith is planted.

Don’t forget to explore the Camp River Ridge offerings as well—an outdoor adventure with a spiritual core, run by Regnum Christi missionaries. View camp details here: Camp River Ridge

2. Intellectual Formation: Keep Young Minds Engaged

Summer is a great time to spark intellectual curiosity. We recommend families explore the Catholic Reader Summer List curated by the Cardinal Newman Society. This list includes age-appropriate, faith-filled literature to foster critical thinking and a love of reading. Download the list here: The Catholic Reader Guide

Additionally, encourage your student to attend our Strategic Plan Rollout Sessions (June 2 and 6) or the High School A-La-Carte Info Night (June 4) to learn how Royalmont fosters intellectual growth year-round, even for part-time or homeschool students.

3. Human Formation: Building Character through Sports and Play

This summer, Royalmont is offering a range of athletic camps and social opportunities that help students grow in discipline, sportsmanship, and community.

  • 🏐 Girls Volleyball (Grades 3–12): June 2–13

  • Coed Golf (Grades 4–8): June 9–13

  • 🎯 Coed Archery (Grades 5–12): June 16–19

  • 🏀 Basketball (Grades 3–8): June 16–20

  • 🏃‍♂️ Cross Country for Grades 6–12 begins June 16 (HS) and July 15 (JH)

Younger students can make new friends during our Summer Play Dates, beginning June 11 from 9–11 AM on the Royalmont playground. It’s a relaxed and joyful way to meet other families and build community.

4. Apostolic Formation: Living Our Faith in Service

One of the hallmarks of the Regnum Christi approach is encouraging students to put their faith into action. This summer, Royalmont will be serving at the St. Max Festival by running the Kids Awards Booth—an opportunity for students to serve joyfully and represent our school’s mission in the wider community.
