Why Homeschool Families Choose A-La-Carte High School Classes
As teens grow, many homeschool families seek additional academic and social opportunities without giving up their flexibility. Parents may want professional support in teaching complex subjects. Students may long for classroom discussions, lab experiences, or a deeper connection to their faith alongside peers.
Royalmont’s a-la-carte program meets these needs—while keeping your values, schedule, and goals at the center.
Flexible Scheduling Built for Homeschool Families
Royalmont’s hybrid block schedule makes it simple to attend in-person classes only a few days each week. Homeschool students can take up to three classes, choosing from a mix of morning or afternoon sessions on the following schedule:
MWF Classes
- Homeroom: 8:25–8:35 AM
- FLEX Bell: 8:38–10:25 AM
- Period 1: 10:28–11:33 AM
- Period 2: 11:36–12:41 PM
- Lunch: 12:44–1:14 PM
- Period 3: 1:17–2:22 PM
- Period 4: 2:25–3:30 PM
T/TH Classes
- Period 5: 8:25–10:01 AM
- Period 6: 10:04–11:40 AM
- Lunch: 11:43–12:13 PM
- Period 7: 12:16–1:52 PM
- Period 8: 1:55–3:30 PM
📌 What Is the FLEX Bell? The FLEX Bell is a dedicated 107-minute period on MWF mornings that gives students time for formation, community-building, academic support, or enrichment. Depending on the week, students may use FLEX for:
- Clubs or household time
- Retreat preparation or apostolic projects
- Academic catch-up, tutoring, or IEP support
- College Credit Plus (CCP) or test makeups
Homeschool students may also participate in FLEX time, especially if they attend morning classes or want to connect with peers. It’s a unique way Royalmont builds intentional formation into the school week.
