We understand that when families drop off their children each morning, they’re placing extraordinary trust in our care. That’s why, each year, we continue to invest in new tools, training, and technologies to protect our school community.

This year, we’re proud to share several key safety upgrades that reflect our ongoing commitment to maintaining a secure and welcoming environment.

New Visitor Kiosk System | Streamlined and Secure Check-In

One of the most visible upgrades this year is our new self-service visitor kiosk. Located at our main entrance, this system requires all visitors to scan a valid driver’s license or ID, instantly running a background check before issuing a printed visitor badge.

For parents who visit frequently—whether volunteering, attending meetings, or joining us for school Mass—you now have the option to download an app or receive a personal QR code. This allows for fast and secure check-in all year long, eliminating the need to scan your ID each time.

Walkie-Talkies for Staff | Better Communication in Real Time

In addition to our new visitor system, every staff member will now carry a walkie-talkie. Whether supervising students on the playground, coordinating an event, or responding in an emergency, these radios allow for immediate communication across campus.

This system enhances the school-wide intercom system we installed last year, providing layered coverage that ensures no message gets missed when it matters most.

Safer Drop-Off and Pick-Up | New Procedures for Efficiency and Protection

Each year, our leadership team reviews and updates drop-off and pick-up procedures in collaboration with local safety experts. This year’s adjustments are designed to improve both efficiency and student safety.

We ask all parents to familiarize themselves with these changes—especially families with younger students. As always, our staff will be on hand during the first weeks of school to help guide you through the new routine.

Partnerships with Law Enforcement | Strategic and Informed Safety Planning

Royalmont Academy’s internal safety and security team meets regularly to assess and refine our safety protocols. We consult with a range of agencies, including the:

• Mason Police Department

• Warren County Sheriff’s Office

• FBI

• Homeland Security

One visible outcome of this collaboration is the new fencing installed at our front entrance. Recommended by our external safety advisors, this addition begins to clearly demarcate the line between community property and school property, providing an extra layer of visual security.

You will also regularly see the Mason police on our campus. They will tour the parking lot, walk through our building, and be highly visible to those around the school.

Some Things Stay Unseen—By Design

While we’re proud to share the visible changes we’ve made, many of our security measures are intentionally kept confidential. These systems—both digital and physical—are designed to respond swiftly and effectively in the event of a crisis, and we believe discretion is an essential part of a sound safety strategy.

Investing in the Future: $100,000 Safety Grant Awarded

We’re also excited to announce that Royalmont Academy has been awarded a $100,000 state safety grant. Over the coming year, these funds will support several major enhancements to our already-robust safety infrastructure, including:

• Upgrading and expanding our keycard access system

• More than doubling the number of security cameras across campus

• Strengthening our intruder alert and response systems

These improvements will allow us to stay ahead of evolving safety needs while preserving the warm and welcoming environment our families value. We’re grateful to be able to make these proactive upgrades in partnership with state and local officials.
