Personalized High School Plan at Royalmont Academy

Choosing a high school is about more than schedules and credits. At Royalmont Academy, a personalized high school plan at Royalmont Academy helps your teen grow in every area of life—intellectually, spiritually, humanly, and apostolically.Because we are a Regnum Christi school, we do not believe students are numbers on a roster. We see each young person as a son or daughter of God with a unique mission. Our planning process is built to help them discover that mission, one conversation at a time.

What Is a Personalized High School Plan?

A personalized high school plan is a four-year roadmap designed around your teen’s strengths,
interests, and calling. It includes course sequencing, leadership opportunities, athletics, apostolic work, and spiritual formation that fit your student rather than forcing them into a mold.

This plan is not a static document. It grows with your child. As they discern their gifts, experience new activities, and encounter Christ more deeply, we revisit and refine the plan alongside your family.

Step 1: Listening to Your Teen’s Story

We begin with a conversation, not a checklist. Incoming or rising high school student are invited to complete our Personalized Plan Questionnaire. It asks about curiosity, hobbies, sports, community engagement, leadership, and faith questions. These prompts help us see the whole person, not just grades or test scores.

  • Curiosity & Exploration: What topics fascinate them? What have they explored on their own?
  • Hobbies & Interests: How do they spend a free afternoon? What creative outlets do they enjoy?
  • Sports & Recreation: Do they thrive in team sports, individual pursuits, or recreational activities?
  • Social & Community Engagement: Do they enjoy volunteering, leading, or working behind the scenes?
  • Bible Knowledge & Curiosity: What do they know about the faith? What questions are still on their heart?

These questions open the door to honest, low-pressure dialogue. Whether your teen is outgoing or quiet, already devout or still searching, our goal is the same: to understand who they are and who they are becoming.

Step 2: Designing a Path Rooted in Integral Formation

Once we have listened to your teen and your family, we work together to design a path rooted in Integral Formation. This means we look at more than academics. We ask how each course, activity, sport, and leadership role will shape the whole person.

Intellectual Formation: Courses That Stretch and Support

In the classroom, we map out a sequence that balances challenge and support. Small class sizes allow us to recommend honors, dual–credit, or foundational courses in the right mix. When needed, we can also collaborate with intervention services so that students with learning differences can still pursue a strong, college-preparatory path.

Human Formation: Habits, Virtue, and Responsible Freedom

A personalized high school plan includes habits, not just homework. We talk with students about time management, study routines, digital balance, friendships, and family responsibilities. Our aim is to help them grow in virtue and responsible freedom so they can thrive in any environment.

Spiritual Formation: A Plan for Prayer and Sacraments

Catholic education, at its best, forms students in humility, wisdom, and virtue so that they may recognize and love what is true, good, and beautiful, as the U.S. bishops have emphasized.

At Royalmont, we help students build a practical plan for spiritual growth: regular Mass, confession, adoration, moments of daily prayer, and spiritual mentoring as needed. Non-Catholic students are also invited into this journey at a pace that respects their conscience and background.

Apostolic Formation: Serving and Leading Beyond Ourselves

Finally, the plan includes concrete ways to serve others. This may mean local service projects, participation in parish life, or leadership in school apostolates. As students grow, we invite them to see their gifts as tools to build up the Church and the world.

Step 3: Walking With Your Teen Through Every Season

Life changes. Interests evolve. New opportunities emerge. For that reason, a personalized high school plan is revisited throughout the high school experience.

  • We check in regularly to see how courses and activities are going.
  • We meet before registration to adjust the plan for the next school year.
  • We support your teen through key moments like college discernment and vocation questions.

When your student discovers a new passion, struggles in a class, or senses a change in direction, they are not alone. Our faculty and formation team are ready to help them take the next right step.

How This Serves Transfer and Homeschool Students

Many families find Royalmont when they realize that their current environment is no longer the right fit—whether that is a large public school, another private school, or a homeschool program that needs added support.

Our planning process is especially helpful for students entering from homeschool settings. If you are already teaching at home but wondering whether your high school program is enough, you may appreciate our post,

Is My Homeschool High School Good Enough?

Together, we can create a hybrid path where your teen keeps the strengths of homeschooling while
gaining access to science labs, theology, languages, leadership electives, and a vibrant Catholic community.

Why Families Choose Royalmont for a Personalized High School Experience

Parents in Mason, West Chester, and across Greater Cincinnati choose Royalmont because they want more than an “achievement factory.” They want a place where their teen is known, loved, and formed as a whole person.

  • Small class sizes that allow teachers to know each student by name.
  • A clearly Catholic identity that remains welcoming to all families.
  • Four-pillar formation: intellectual, human, spiritual, and apostolic.
  • Staff who see high school as a mission field, not just an academic step.

This is what it means for us to live our conviction that every student has a God-given mission
and deserves a plan that reflects it.

Frequently Asked Questions About Personalized High School Plans

Do we have to know my teen’s future career before we start?

No. The goal is not to lock your student into a career at age 14. Instead, we help them discover their interests, grow in virtue, and keep doors open for future college and vocational discernment.

What if my teen is shy or not very talkative?

That is okay. Our approach is designed to be low-pressure. Quiet students often share more when they can reflect first and then talk one-on-one with a trusted adult.

Can the plan change if my child struggles academically?

Yes. Because we review the plan regularly, we can adjust course levels, supports, and pacing as needed. Our goal is to challenge students while still setting them up to succeed.

Is there an extra cost for a personalized high school plan?

No. This process is part of our commitment to every Royalmont family. We see it as an essential expression of our mission to form strong Christian leaders.
