At Royalmont Academy, our high school students experience something distinct and transformative through our household system. This approach doesn’t simply group students together; instead, it builds an extended family within the school. Students grow in personal faith, develop friendships, and form a lasting sense of camaraderie. Let’s explore what makes our household system unique and why it’s a cherished part of Royalmont.
Each Royalmont household is named after a revered saint, offering students meaningful role models from history. Here are the four houses:
Each house has a rich history that provides students with a sense of identity and purpose rooted in faith.
Our household system doesn’t just focus on academic or spiritual growth. While we meet every last Wednesday of the month for spiritual reflection, prayer, and Bible study, the gatherings go far beyond this. Once a month, students also gather for “crazy fun” house competitions that set Royalmont apart. These competitions build unity and school spirit in a fun, memorable way. They are more than games—they foster teamwork and resilience.
Royalmont Academy has an ongoing tradition of passing a house trophy to the winning house after each challenge. Each time a house wins a challenge, the trophy moves to their lead teacher’s classroom. A ribbon in the house’s color is added, marking their achievement. This friendly rivalry keeps students excited and engaged in the spirit of their house.
Each house plans a school-wide party every quarter, creating opportunities for students to come together and celebrate. At our last gathering, for example, students cheered on their housemates in a costume relay race. These events allow students to build lasting friendships and share memorable experiences that they’ll carry long after high school.
The household system at Royalmont is about more than just fun and games. Each house is currently working with mentors, like Abbie, to develop values inspired by their saint’s life. This year, every house will focus on three key virtues chosen from their saint’s teachings. In this way, students have a chance to embody the spirit of their house in daily life. This blend of faith and character development reinforces Royalmont’s mission of forming strong Christian leaders.
At Royalmont, we believe that growth in faith is just as important as academic success. The household system combines spiritual formation with community-building. Here’s what makes our program unique:
