When I was growing up in Dayton, Ohio, I attended a small Catholic school. It was a good place with kind teachers, but I don’t remember hearing the stories of the saints or learning to model life after theirs. Somehow, God felt quiet—present in symbols, not in stories. At Royalmont, forming Christian leaders through virtue means making faith lived, shared, and remembered.
When Faith Comes Alive
This week, our students gathered for First Friday Mass dressed as their favorite saints. There was St. Dominic with a handmade rosary, St. Kateri with painted beads, St. Michael with cardboard armor, and a young St. Carlo Acutis proudly holding a laptop. They weren’t just playing saints—they were meeting them. When faith is taught as a relationship, it roots deep and bears fruit that lasts.

Formation That Shapes the Heart
At our Annual Fall Banquet just a few weeks ago, that truth came to life through the words of one student—eighth grader Cyril “Cy”. He began with the confidence of a young man who loves his school, sharing about Mass, ECyD, Adoration, and how teachers challenge students to grow in virtue. Then his tone changed.
“Royalmont is not just a school; it is a family community that is eager to lift people up… One of the many ways Royalmont has lifted me up is by being a warm, strong embrace.” — Cyril (Cy) S, Grade 8
Cy shared that his older brother—a former Royalmont student—had followed God’s call to a minor seminary in Indiana. He loved it there. He was discerning the priesthood, a life devoted to Christ. Then, at the end of the school year, tragedy struck. His brother died in a UTV accident.
“Before anyone could notice, Royalmont embraced my family and gave us countless blessings.”
And then came the line that left the room silent:
“I know that if my brother did not have the Royalmont family, I might not have a brother in Heaven.”
Partners in Formation
Royalmont doesn’t replace the family—it strengthens it. Our mission is to walk beside parents as they raise their children to know and love God. Together, we teach students to pray when life is hard, to forgive when they’re hurt, and to find joy in serving others. Formation isn’t only about what happens inside our classrooms; it’s about what our students carry home—the peace, virtue, and purpose that shape family life rooted in Christ.

Through the Halls, Walk Saints
Cy closed with a line that still echoes: “Through the halls of Royalmont Academy, walk saints.” That is our purpose—to help families raise saints who love God, love others, and bring light into the world. When home and school walk together, formation becomes transformation. This is what it means to be on mission. This is what it means to form strong Christian leaders who will transform society.
